Child Focused DRR in World Vision ADPs (Dec 2008) PST
CRRC and World Vision embarked on a project that started last October 2008. The
on-going project, “Child Focused DRR in World Vision ADPs,”
is part of the World Vision’s Asia Pacific HEA (Humanitarian & Emergency
Affairs) Regional Resilience Project.
The project aims to develop and test models for child-focused disaster
risk reduction and resilience building in the preparedness period, before
disasters strike. Next
year, consultations with children and the communities will be conducted in
order to develop appropriate tools and processes. These will then be
pilot-tested in two of World Vision’s ADPs (Area
Development Program) found in disaster prone provinces in the Visayas. The
good practices of DRR and building community resilience gleaned from the
project will be documented and published. (December
