Child Focused DRR in World Vision ADPs (Dec 2008)

PST CRRC and World Vision embarked on a project that started last October 2008. The on-going project, “Child Focused DRR in World Vision ADPs,” is part of the World Vision’s Asia Pacific HEA (Humanitarian & Emergency Affairs) Regional Resilience Project.  The project aims to develop and test models for child-focused disaster risk reduction and resilience building in the preparedness period, before disasters strike.

Next year, consultations with children and the communities will be conducted in order to develop appropriate tools and processes. These will then be pilot-tested in two of World Vision’s ADPs (Area Development Program) found in disaster prone provinces in the Visayas.

The good practices of DRR and building community resilience gleaned from the project will be documented and published.
