Primer for Victims of CICL to be published in the 1st Quarter of 2009

The PST CRRC has recently finished the last of a series of primers on the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act or 9344, a  Philippine legislation enacted in 2006 that seeks to address the situation of children in conflict with the law (CICL) The primer entitled Tatlong Kwento ng Krimen, ang Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act, at ang Restorative Justice is  geared for victims and their families and was written by PST CRRC through the commissioning of Plan Philippines.  The first five primers were written for CICL, parents, barangay officials, social workers, and the police. 

This last installment explains the concept of restorative justice, the ways to help CICL reform their ways, and the ways that victims of CICL can attain justice. The primer was based on a lecture presentation delivered by Atty. Rommel Abitria of the Humanitarian Legal Assistance Foundation (HLAF) on the newly enacted law. 

The primer is set to be published in the first quarter of 2009 by Plan Philippines.
